British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (BWRC) has a mission to promote the welfare of wildlife casualties both whilst in captivity and after release back into the wild, and to ensure that casualties are handled within the framework and spirit of the law. The Council is run by a voluntary Steering Committee, which meets several times a year and encourages contact between rehabilitators, organising symposiums and regional workshops, and periodically issuing a BWRC newsletter, 'The Rehabilitator'.
